Minus one flatmate (Oct 2004 - Mar 2007)

So Bunty (Lalit) has moved out...

It is shocking - he moved in roughly 2 1/2 years ago (October 2004). It was a good run, and he was a great last flatmate before I get the 'eternal flatmate' - Deepti.

Good thing he just moved down the road, otherwise I would get really emotional!

So - in other news - my health is improving. At least it feels that way...the weekend was spent complaining about this damn flu thats been going around. I still blame that turkey I had 3 weeks ago for all this - all the worker bees have been dropping like flies & although this could partly be my fault for coming in to work while still ill (I blame the machismo corporate culture around canary wharf for that!) it seems like this could be the pandemic avian flu at work. How much of a let down would it be if this was the big, bad bird flu that caused this?

Hopefully that will mean an end to the hermetic state caused by my illness. Based on the Diamond Geezer definition of a 'night out', any time I've ventured out after 6:00 pm would count as a night out (this does not include overtime at work or any training related to the triathlon!). I'm aiming for quality over quantity - as I've got too much happening concurrently. To measure this I'll maintain a Geezeresque count - the total for March stands at 1 - Digress, followed by dinner with Shirley, Sonal, Barkha and Deepti at Strada this Saturday eve. Verdict: would have been great if (a) we didn't get thrown out of area in digress (b) i could stomach some food with my head pounding and (c) the taxi not charging so much to get us back home.

I was meant to be at Paparazzi Cafe on Saturday night for Rohinis birthday dinner (happy birthday!!!!), but it would have infuriated me to be in one of my favourite restaurants in London and not being able to eat (or enjoy the company!) - the restaurant is due to close at the end of March, and I will do anything in my power to get there before then - any excuse for a night out really, so people - any suggestions??

I'm back from sunny North Carolina at the end of March. How about a night out with me and the Pega People?

I haven't seen you since I left in December last year so it'd be great to catch up. Plus I can tell you all about how your blog convinced me to get a Mac ;)

It’s a sad day now that Lalit has moved/booted out of Neil’s house. It’s been great and many a good game of Pro has been played, not to mention the fact that you aided Neil immeasurably in strengthening our immune systems by allowing us into your flat which at times could really have been considered a Biohazard but we are all still alive and vaguely well, what future impact it will have on ability to procreate, keep a full head of hair etc etc remains to be seen but for now I assume we are in the clear.

Oh the memories, most recently including the great Christmas dinner we had at your house when I not only asked your opinion of the secret santa present I was about to buy for you, then proceeded to have the audacity to make you wrap it for me. Still I apologise for that particular debacle but you brought it on yourself.

Or how about the time, you all tricked me into going to Bar Bollywood by using its alternate name. Why did you let me go? What kind of friend do you call yourself? And I really should have known better than put my social life in the hands of a Manchester United fan. At least you had the good graces to apologise for what was to come before we arrived there in the taxi. That was the mother of all Asian nights and Neil complains about the time Dips took us to an Asian night (that night by the way really needs to be documented before the memory fades and the recollection accuracy of it will be left without plausibility but that’s another story) this night was far worse.

So many more times I could go on about like the chicken dance-dance off, Deeps birthday at the worst club ever where they didn’t even bother to turn on the heating oh well, but in earnest what really concerns me is who the heck is going to join me in the time honoured tradition of “Mocking Neil” when I visit his flat.

I’m sure the tears will well up in Neil’s eyes when he looks at what Lalit’s room has become in future years, i.e. Deepti’s dressing room. It’s been good Lalit, so wishing you all the best, keep in touch, don’t be a stranger and the rest of that lark. Erm…..see you Sunday as usual for hungover football.

im not a blogmaster but will say my words to what was a great era in the seacon residence...

sunday 4th march was wierd, it just happened, i feel like i still live there... all of a sudden, i was sleeping in a foreign bed in a foreign flat with a foreign flatmate.... something feels odd. but this is life, its dynamic, i accept it and take with me the good and bad memories, and take everything and everyone i met with me in that house.... except for pro evo! damn how i miss losing in that game (once a month!)

im down the road, close to shopping, close to nandos, close to cinema, but not close to a subway, and boy how i could use a nice submelt right now! (btw its 9.20am!)

about the xmas present, that was the meanest, slyest gag ever... i chose my present, wrapped my present, labelled my effing present and then handed it to myself!!!!!! all to a bunch of laughs... but hey its been the best sit down read i have had in 2.5 yrs (trust me, GQ aint half as funny!)

and about mocking neil when you come over... just pick me up on your way there, its hardly even a de-tour... see ya at footy

I'm so glad I didn't get any of that flu when it was floating around, even with everyone coming into work sick with it. I'm off to dinner at a Strada London tonight. I cannot wait, I've been looking forward to one of their pizzas all week.
