Neil, sorry but I did not want to steal your “thunder” and make comments all the time. Since this is your website and all.
What makes you think we all do not look forward to your posts about trips to Warwick and renditions of the awful James Blunt by some woman who obviously could do with erm some kind of other bedroom activity not involving her mac.
I personally was riveted by your post about your trip to Warwick to watch your sister perform at the one world show. That’s some interesting stuff right there. Fact is our lives really are not that interesting somebody has to innovate, thereby carrying us all along in their slipstream of enthusiam, entrepeneurship and mostly importantly living off someone else’s dream. Any takers?
There is only so much I can say regarding my working week without resorting to the most manly conversation topic of them all “Algorithms”. I could go on and on about the extra-curricular reading I did during with the follow up review, the texture, shape, complexion, duration spent etc. Plus any start on this topic would have to stop the instant Jait chimed in and decided to recollect. Most of us who went to university with him know the score and its common knowledge that he has rendered us with the use of just four senses.
Now, as has become the case I will rant and rave about something in a fashion that would put anything that I came up with on a university paper to shame. Due to the fact that’s it is not 100% plagarised, better written, more thought out and I have not repeated myself five times in order to make it of adquate length. But seriously what can be said about some recent news without reducing everyone into a panic-stricken state. From George W Bush is the human manifestation of the grim reaper sending us all to violent/nuclear grave to the ever popularly potential bird flu epidemic about to break to well it’s not like its going to matter cause the planets f$%ked anyway. I think I will go with the latter.
Seriously is it any wonder human society is in trouble. If aliens landed tomorrow they would think the most important thing going on in the UK is the poor asian girl who got bullied and abused by the nasty caucasian girls. If this is worthy to still be front page news everyday three weeks after the event then I am crying for society, I really am. When “far” less important issues like irefutable evidence of global warming are made one day news items before relegation to some side column on page 40. Its like the small print of a contract no one reads mostly due to laziness but also on the assumption of it will never happen and it cannot be important if its in the small print. That is until it happens and you are completely buggered without a leg stand on cause it was on the small print you couldn’t be bothered to read and they will be quick to tell you so.
I really cannot understand the lets bring it up but then bury it and on the off chance it will never happen attitude of the media like global warming is the flavour of the week topic. Since you all know I am never one to support the paranoid beliefs of madmen or conspiracy theorists (Friends a racist TV show what kind of idiot…………), I will quietly mutter the words “I blame labour” so you will all know the deal if I suddenly go missing. I will however draw the line at scientology you will never hear me scream “save me Tom Cruise” those nutjobs are just freaks.
It reminds me of that bit in Gladiator when they realise the Roman Empire is falling apart and people are suffering, but what do they do to stop people worrying, put on some shows again of people killing people that always bring a smile to peoples faces and makes them forget about the important things in life. Has nothing really changed or evolved in the time since, sure the shows are different and more varied but the basic strategy employed is still the same. Is society as a whole so gullible that constant scapegoats like the nasty caucasian girls need to be portrayed in the media instead of being informed of the real pressing issues in the world today or do we just like to pretend things are not happening just to make ourselves sleep better at night.
There is no quick fix and the worst case scenario is too frightening to think about. So while the governments in charge (who are the only ones capable of making a change), weigh everyone up as collateral in a bid to find out whether it’s “financially worthwhile” to save our existence I will just stop and pray…………………………….
“Save me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope” (390,000 registered followers of Jedism in the UK alone I will have you know)
